Art to me has different meanings and different branches, but the two that interest me the most are design and photography. I'm a graduate of San Diego State University. Outside of the "Art world," I like Journalism, particularly photojournalism. Thanks to the pen (or in modern day technology; a computer) I got involved with design. After two decades of being a journalist, designer, and photographer I can say that I've enjoyed every single bit of the ride thus far. I became so involved with it that I enjoy coming up with new enhancing layouts or logotypes. It's difficult to say which part of what I consider art, I happen to enjoy the most. Whether it's taking photos of athletes or landscapes, or designing a simple page I enjoy them both. In photography I enjoy capturing moments such as a veteran player scoring the game-winning goal that captures a championship, or the sunset coming in between the clouds. I like designing or illustrating concepts such as a new traveling campaign, or a booklet that will provide information and graphics to the reader and the rest of the World. My work in all media forms has been published by The Orange County Register, OC Sports Zone, Fox Sports (2007-2011), and many other organizations across Latin America. I've been the Art Director of OC Catholic (2018-2022), and my work can still be seen on OC Sports Zone as a freelance photographer/reporter/designer (2018-currently). Some of the historic artists who have inspired me in my work have been Ansel Adams, Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol. My inspirations in photography and in design are based on particular feelings or emotions that need to be captured, expressed and shared. The best way to tell a story is through an image that depicts the moment, or through a logo that identifies a brand to the public. |
